Mervyn Albin: Bio Drawing inspiration from old school Metallica, Slayer and Tool, the band likes to hit both hard and soft. When these guys are in a room together, things get heavy. Mervyn Albin co-produced their latest album with Phil Anderson. Phil owns Edmonton's #1 recording studio, Powersound, constructed by the members of Mervyn Albin over a year. This June Bill Kennedy (Megadeth, NIN, Monster Magnet, Tom Jones, Nothingface) mixed the album at the Armoury. Tom Baker (Bad Religion, Beastie Boys, NIN, Deftones) will master the album at Precision Mastering in Los Angeles. The boys are anxious to release their long overdue sophomore album in 2008. Cam is originally from Winfield, BC. Kelly and Beau are natives of Edmonton and first started playing with Cam in 1995, but separated in 96 when shit happened and other things became more important. John hails from Fort St. John and moved to the big city to find talent to match his classically trained fingers. Sometime around 98, he started jamming with Beau. Kelly joined a couple or three years after, and Cam joined the line up in 2003. In the summer of 2006 they brought in former Ft. Macker Ryan to hit the skins. With an album release in sight and two in the bank thanks to some sweat and sleep deprivation, Mervyn Albin looks forward to putting down the Dewalts and working with Pearl, Ibanez and Gibson for many years to come. |
